Taking out the Trash Empty
PostSubject: Taking out the Trash   Taking out the Trash I_icon_minitimeMon Jun 25, 2012 2:06 pm

The clearing up ahead held a small ship, and a small contingent of Black Sun operatives. It was close enough to the capital for them to do their work, but inconspicuous and withdrawn enough to maintain their secrecy. It had taken Orlan almost a whole week to get the location of this drop point, and they would be here for only a few more standard days. The Alderaan officials knew of it, of course. Many of the most influential used their services in one way or another, and that was why Orlan had known he could not simply report them to the authorities. The cesspool that was the social elite of the Republic was spreading its offal even here on Alderaan, and he despised it.

It was true that Orlan himself was a dark horse, and that much of his money came from illegal gains, but there was a line. Generally what Orlan did was victim-less, where as he knew he and Lilith would find not only drugs and other life destroying illegal contraband, but several slaves as well. This was the way the Black Sun operated.

He and Lilith were back from the clearing, but strong in the Force as they were they could see and hear what was going on. This was the reason Orlan had brought himself to Alderaan, a reason that had been eclipsed by the Force's reason for them both to be here. He had not spoken to her since they had started their trek to this place, and here in the deepening darkness of the night, their silence was like a blanket, wrapped around them protectively.

Lilith was not as graceful this time around as they made there way through the forest undergrowth making there way to the spice dealers Orlan had discovered on this world. Her heart was racing and every time she thought she managed to slow it, be in control once more she’d recall the soft touch of his lips on hers and the world would tilt all over again causing her to misstep. After a time they apparently had found their destination as Orlan was peering ahead with an intensity which made her heart skip, she felt him reach out with the Force almost urging her to do the same to scout the clearing ahead.

Lilith put her back to a tree trunk, reluctant to do the same for the barest of moments, if she did would he feel what she was feeling? Could she hide her turbulent emotions from him anymore? The moment she’d felt his lips on hers, felt his mind caress her own as equally as gentle she knew a duel fear that it might be her first kiss and her last. The Jedi did not encourage deep attachments between beings; relationships were a strict taboo as they clouded the mind and Lilith understood what they meant by that now as instead of gazing ahead to the clearing she found she was studying him once more taking in every detail so she was able to recall it perfectly later.

She shook her head once startled she was being so careless; suddenly she was keenly aware that she was throwing away everything the Jedi taught her and for what, a look, a smile from one man? She’d never been so introspective before, so utterly self absorbed that she forgot her duty and Lilith found she didn’t like it. She turned soundlessly on her heels and turned her attention ahead to survey the clearing, let him feel sense her unease if he could. There was a small handful of being in the clearing ahead, lounging or strolling restlessly to and fro but what interested her most was the ship. It wasn’t large but it didn’t need to be to return her to Coruscant, away from Orlan to give her the space, time and peace she needed to sort out what was happening to her and regain her Jedi perspective once more. It was hard thinking about leaving him; she felt a physical pang the moment she made up her mind. It would be hard yes but it was harder for her now to accept the visions he’d shown her - of betrayal in the Jedi ranks, corruption in the senate. It was hard for someone so young burdened with such a duty to imagine themselves unable to do without him in her life, unable to concentrate through the longing and help people as she always wanted to do. She flicked her gaze up to the tree she was pressed against, mentally calculating the distance between it and the ship a plan forming in her mind.

The silence deepened further. She needed the time now, and he was more than willing to give it. He could sense they would part ways soon, but he could not bring himself to be the one that initiated it. Instead he remained where he was, a ghost between the trees, watching the clearing far more than he was watching her. Let her think she had caught him by surprise. He needed other things to concentrate upon now.

He truly dislike this kind of slime. Where he danced around the laws and achieved what was needed, they broke through them like a rampaging bantha, bringing chaos and destruction in their wake. There was no sophistication to them, simply money. And money without sophistication was just wrong. Normally Orlan did not like to get his hands dirty, but the civilian authorities had been less than useless here. In a place like Alderaan, only one or two needed to be corrupt to allow this kind of scum their freedom from incarceration. No, his shadow games had not worked this time, and once Lilith had made her play, he would remove the problem personally.

His mind continued to draw him back to Lilith. Her beauty, her elegance, her innocence. So many appealing pieces which made a whole that was far more intoxicating than any of the parts could have even hinted at. He would allow her to leave, of course, but he would find her again. There was no place in this galaxy where he could not safely tread, be it in the beauty of Alderaan, the cesspool of Nul Hutta, or the pinnacle of enlightenment, the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. Yes, she would get away, and he would give her time to find her composure, so that when they met next, it would be on more equal footing.

Taking out the Trash Empty

Several things happened at once, her lightsabre whipped out a sudden golden flash which the men in the clearing ahead squinted at but reasoned it must have been lightning as one of Alderaan’s massive trees suddenly cracked and started to fall their way. Lilith had used a fainted touch of the Force to direct its fall before running vertically up its trunk to the top, slashing away the branches from her path with fluid strokes as she rode it down. One of the men realised it was falling directly towards the cargo they had unloaded in preparation for their meetings and was crushed under the falling tree as he tried to rescue it. The others had more sense and stood back watching in mute horror as it happened and never realised the Jedi was the cause until her lightsabre cut through a few of their weapons which hung loosely at their sides as she bounded off the fallen tree and towards their ship.

Taken by surprise as they were they reacted slower then she did, turning only as she managed to slip aboard aiming blasters as her disappearing backside, never even considering she might not be alone. Inside the ship Lilith calmly walked to the cockpit, she sensed three more aboard one presumably the pilot and she wanted words with him anyway. Outside she heard shots going off and the muted yells of “Jedi!” but she ignored those now, she’d done her job – their cargo was useless, they were largely unarmed and she knew Orlan’s sense of fair play would render him unable to strike down anyone who could not defend themselves fairly against him.

The hatch slid open and her lightsabre hummed delicately, aimed at the throat of the pilot before he could get a shot off. Her lips held a calm, sweet smile as she stepped into the cabin and inclined her head in greeting offering him a simple order, “Take off.” He hesitated as she knew she would, after all he had greater things to be held accountable then to just her but a sudden scream of pain which pierced the night spurred him into responding. Obviously he thought her the better of the odds then whatever it was who was occupying her friends.

Lilith cast a glance back over her shoulder, wondering idly if Orlan would understand her actions or if he would perhaps feel abandoned and betrayed. That didn’t matter now as she looked back to the pilot who’d turned in his seat and about to hire, her hand moved in a small fluid motion. “You want to take us to Coruscant.” He blinked, once, twice and then nodded. “Yes. I want to take us to Coruscant.” And that was that, the hanger door hissed as it rose as the engines fired up, lifting the ship off the ground slowly. Somewhere along the line she’d inspect the rest of the ship, find the two slaves bound and fearful and free them. She’d ask them to drop her off at Coruscant and then let them take the ship, it would be easier then having to explain to the Jedi what happened and then her life would return to normal... maybe.

Taking out the Trash Empty

She had acted, and she had struck well. Cargo ruined, weapons disabled, ship gone. Lilith had taken them all in such a quick simple action it had seemed as if they were mere children instead of the hardened criminals he knew them to be. It would be simple now for Orlan to go through and destroy them, to end each of their lives. With his lightsaber or with the Force, they were no match for him. But the game of it was gone now. They were unarmed, defenseless. Orlan knew that if he were simply to leave them there, the wild creatures of the planet would be drawn to the scent of the already spilled blood. They would be like lambs before the wolves, and Orlans work would be done by the planet itself.

In the deepening night, his eyes did not leave the spot in the sky where the ship she had stolen had become a speck of light and then disappeared completely. He wrapped himself in the Force, concealing himself from both the Black Sun criminals and the wild animals that were beginning to circle, ignoring the night around him and letting himself simply feel. Where a Jedi might seal away their emotions, Orlan let himself relive them over and over, to let them teach him everything they could. The surprise, the desire, the sheer unadulterated lust, all of these and so much more! To wallow in these sensations and savor them, Orlan was truly alive in a way that a Jedi would never feel, and it was this sense of life he would bring to Lilith, that and so much more.

As the screams began, and the wild animals began their feast, Orlan turned away. The Force flowed through him, and he raced over the ground far faster than Lilith had. Leaping with agility that a gazelle would envy, sprinting with a speed that put a cheetah to shame, and occasionally leaping from shadow to shadow with techniques in the Force no Jedi could even imagine, he felt the world slip passed him. This was his farewell to Alderaan, for something told him he would not be returning for some time. As much as that was a sobering thought, it was the promises of the future that pulled him ever forward. To life. To Lilith.
